How we deliver AI success for your organisation

The Five Pillars of Organisational AI

We believe there are five pillars that underpin successful use of AI by organisations: strategy, data and tools, process, people and governance.

01

Strategy

Why it’s important

Without a clear strategy that everyone understands you’ll move forward without direction. You may make lots of small operational improvements but energy will be wasted, effort will be duplicated and you’re likely to scale problems as fast as solutions.

How we do it
  • Define a vision for where you want your organisation to get to
  • Create a plan to get you there balancing short, medium and long term changes
  • Teams see short term improvements whilst structures are built for long term success
  • Strategy is regularly updated as business and technical realities change
02

Data and Tools

Why it’s important

The tools you use, and the data that fuels them will underpin any AI and automation initiatives you undertake. It’s tempting to jump in with AI tools and licences but without good data, systems that talk to each other, and clear workflows you just move the bottleneck somewhere else.

How we do it
  • Always look to work with and around what you already have first
  • Prioritise data portability and quality
  • Work to reduce complexity long term
  • Tie all systems decisions back to strategy, process and people
  • How will it be used and how will it move the organisation forward?
03

Process

Why it’s important

Taking existing processes and speeding them up with AI is a reasonable starting point, but this will always be limited and miss bigger opportunities for improvement. Not taking an organisation wide view of process can result in implementation that just shifts an issue from one area to another, or creates new issues in place of ones that are solved.

How we do it
  • Map processes across the organisation and identify key bottlenecks
  • Take a whole company view, ensuring issues are solved not just moved to other areas
  • Implement quick wins whilst looking at opportunities to improve or re-invent processes with AI and automation
  • Look for opportunities to increase value, not just reducing time and workload
04

People

Why it’s important

As with any organisational transformation whether it succeeds or fails will come down to people and adoption. If teams don’t see the benefit of change, don’t have the skills to deliver what is being asked, or feel that the management vision doesn’t align with day to day reality then AI initiatives will stall.

How we do it
  • Create a network of AI Champions to represent teams
  • Act as a bridge between leadership vision and day to day implementation
  • Onboarding brings teams along by focusing on how AI can improve their day to day
  • Drop-in sessions and on the job training and support, not one and done training sessions
05

Governance

Why it’s important

AI creates exciting new opportunities for organisations, but it also creates new risks around data management, GDPR and quality assurance of output. AI impact also needs to be measured, are you getting ROI across your AI initiatives? Are costs controlled appropriately?

How we do it
  • Governance is composed of security and risk management, quality and output, and ROI and measurement
  • Set appropriate data access and system level controls, backed with policies and procedures managed these through the AI Champions network
  • Assessment and quality frameworks for evaluating AI tools and agents
  • Prediction and measurement of ROI and ongoing cost optimisation
